A native of Morrison, Ill., Casey graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of North Dakota, earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Kinesiology. He began his collegiate coaching career while attending the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he interned under Nick Zostautas and assisted with the coaching of a variety of teams and professional athletes training in the off-season, such as MLB superstar, Curtis Granderson.
Casey continued his education while working as a Graduate Assistant for the University of North Dakota and head strength coach, Nate Baukol. Serving as the Strength & Conditioning coach for the Baseball and Softball teams, he also had the opportunity to work with the Football, Basketball, Track and Field, and Swimming programs. The baseball team recorded the most wins in Div. 1 history during his tenure and had multiple players in the Northwoods League and a player who was selected for the prestigious, Cape Cod summer league. Three players from that team have gone on to play professionally.
Working with hundreds of athletes since then and numerous professional players in a wide variety of sports such as the NFL, MLB, Olympic Triathlon, and many others, he has worked with and developed a wide range of athletes who have all seen improved results.
Casey is a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, along with being a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.
A.J. is a recent graduate of Concordia University Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He also played four years of football at Concordia, achieving All-Conference honors as well as Team Captain. A.J. intends on continuing his education to complete a graduate program in Physical Therapy. He is experienced in Strength and Conditioning training of athletes throughout his time in college as well as proficient in Olympic Weightlifting. A.J. is also currently working on becoming a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Nick uses his expertise in the fields of nutrition and kinesiology to develop strength and conditioning programs designed to improves athletes on and off the field. Learning to create a mind-body connection and be more mindful in everyday activities is the passion behind his training. He has a lot of experience working with athletes from youth to collegiate level through his time at Michigan State University and Oregon University, as well as working with adult and senior populations. He is currently in pursuit of becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD) in which he will help athletes develop personalized meal plans to educate and guide athletes into making better food choices that will improve their health and performance.
Just recently graduated from Concordia University with a degree in Exercise Science, Ryan has been a firefighter for the City of Chicago for the last two years while also interning at Tactic over the last several months of his education. Ryan’s prior experience also includes time spent with the strength and conditioning program at Saint Patrick High School for two years. Ryan currently continues his education and will be attaining his CSCS in the near future.
Helen is the summer intern and will graduate this August with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Marquette University. In addition to completing her degree, she is working toward becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. Her passion for coaching and athletics developed from her experience as a competitor as a figure skater as she still currently competes at the regional and collegiate national level. She has previous strength and conditioning internship experience with populations ranging from youth, adult, and Division I athletes.
Logan is a senior at Glenbrook South High School and has been training with Tactic for close to three years. Logan is a competitive rower and plays volleyball for Wildcat Jrs. Volleyball Club. At GBS, she has been part of the radio and tv programs and has an interest in videography.
